Thumbs up for Commando P

I came across a new brilliant design company called Commando P, that has launched today a creative line of notebooks, mouse pads and coaster. They really have cool designs of all time Egyptian comedians, like Adel Imam, Yoinis Shallby, Ahmed Zaky, Wahid Seif and many more. But my favourite one has to be Nour El Sherif as "Sheihata Abu Kaf", this notebook I will be getting to my fanatic Zamalkawy husband of mine.

Next time you go to buy a notebook consider buying a Local brand to encourage those talented emerging young designers.
They are available at volume 1, Alef bookstores and Virgin Mega stores.

Mani Monday: Essie Srping 2012 collection

The New Essie nail polishes for Spring 2012 is sure a thing to talk about it. First time I saw this I felt it looked close to their older Brazilliant collection "which I liked big time", but when I saw some colour swatches online, I could saw the difference.

The Colours are:
Tour de Finance " Shimmery Fuchsia" - To buy or not to buy " Shimmery lilac" -  Ole Caliente " Scarelt red"- It's Obvious "Neon Orange"- A crewed interest "Peachy"  - Navigate her " amazing green colour"

Meet my new friend: Amika

Amika is an awesome company for hair styling products, Amika  also means female friend in some languages.
I got my Amika Tourmaline 1 inch curling wand 3 months ago and I have to say as I found Amika I found a true friend, just like the name. The curling wand is like a curler for the dummies, super easy to use and give beautiful well defined curls or waves, this depends on how you use. I have to admit I am super dump when it comes to heat styling hair, because most of the time I leave me hair a la natural and if I want to style it up I would rather go to the hair salon to have it done professionally than playing with it at home and burn down or something. But really the curling wand is a device that's so easy to use even I can use. Amika Tourmaline came with a thermal gloves to protect the hands during curling.

DON'T forget to use heat protectant before curling, straightening or even blow drying your hair.

I have found this video on Youtube to teach you how to use it. Super brilliant.

Quick Lunch At Donburi

Last week I had Lunch a newly opened Japanese restaurant in City Stars called Donburi. It's a very tiny restaurant or to be more accurate it's more like a booth with high stools and a hidden cooking station. As I learned that Danburi means rice bowl in Japanese. Happily Donburi is a Japanese restaurant that doesn't serve sushi nor tirayki  (Thank God), because we are sick from all those new sushi place - some serve it with Kiri cheese YUCK- It's about time the we experience something new from the Japanese cuisine. Their menu is not so big, but it's somehow diverse. I ordered Chicken kots-don, which is steamed rice with breaded fried chicken breast with some Japanese sauce and grated cabbage. it tasted so good and was very filling, as after I ordered it, I doubted that it will be enough for me. I was in hurry so I didn't get to try the soup nor the dessert but they looked so delicious.  But sure I will go again to this cute little eatery and try everything they have, it's definitely a must visit.

Donburi can be tricky to find, it's on the cinema floor around the corner from Alain la Notre.

Product of the Month: The Body Shop Banana Shampoo

The Banana Shampoo and conditioner from The Body Shop is a product that will make you go bananas. I used to use this product when I was younger, even before The Body Shop opened in Egypt, I used to ask anyone traveling abroad to get it for me. But sadly this awesome product has been discontinued for some years, till it was relaunched again last year.

The Shampoo is amazing, smells strongly of banana, it's like you soaked your head right into bananas juice, I love banana smell so this works perfectly for me, however I don't recommend it for people who hate the smell of bananas because its scent can be a little overwhelming. On the other hand the conditioner smells more of Pina Colada than of bananas. I never tried to use the shampoo alone, only with conditioner, it leaves my hair soft and helps keeping it straight, one of my friends who has a very sensitive and itchy scalp told me that it helped to soothe down the itchiness.  Also I don't recommend washing you hair with it, if you want to curl your hair afterwards, as I said before it helps to keep the hair straight which is amazing. It's a little bit more expensive than drug store shampoos, but the price difference is definitely worth it.
I heard a rumor that The Body Shop wants to discontinue it AGAIN !!!. I really hope they won't, it's an amazing product after all.
